What is SBA?

With systematic fire protection work (SBA) it is ensured that fire protection is complied with. It is a requirement for all businesses that it is documented and carried out in practice.

What is Passive fire protection?

Passive fire protection is a common name for a group of measures that increase the fire safety of the building construction and thereby prevent and limit the spread or impact of fire and smoke.

What is the difference between passive fire protection and active fire protection?

To begin with – both are equally important, but with passive fire protection the fire safety of the building construction is increased and with active fire protection, which is usually more visible, for example in the form of a smoke alarm or fire extinguisher, you detect the smoke, extinguish the fire and spaces in a safe way.

What do the letters EI stand for in a fire class?

The letters stand for the following properties, E = integrity (tightness) and I = insulation, regardless of the type of installation.

What is the purpose of a Fire Cell?

The purpose of the fire cell is to resist fire and flammable gases for a specified time, e.g. EI30, EI60, EI90, …

What is fireproofing?

If an installation penetration or other cavity breaks a fire cell boundary, fire sealing of this must be carried out using type-approved methods.

What is self-control?

Self-inspection is a documentation that demonstrates and guarantees that the fire protection work has been carried out correctly and in accordance with current requirements.

How many fire alarms should one have in a villa?

At least one smoke detector per 60 m2, place a smoke detector in each bedroom or adjacent to the bedroom. It should be mounted at least 30 cm from lamps, at least 3 meters from the bathroom and at least 6 meters from the stove or kitchen.
